In Vedic astrology, time (Kaala) is not merely a quantitative measurement on a clock, but a living cosmic dimension governed by divine planetary energies. The ancient seers designed the Panchang to help human beings synchronize their thoughts, health routines, spiritual practices, and financial endeavors with nature's rhythmic tides.
When embarking on important life milestones — such as purchasing property, solemnizing a marriage, scheduling a C-section birth, or laying the foundation stone of a building — consulting the local Panchang ensures that you harvest favorable planetary rays while shielding yourself from malefic transitions.

The word Panchang originates from "Pancha" (Five) and "Anga" (Limbs). The five core limbs are: (1) Tithi (Lunar Day based on Sun-Moon angular distance), (2) Vaar (Solar weekday), (3) Nakshatra (Lunar constellation traversed by Moon), (4) Yoga (Luni-solar angular sum), and (5) Karana (Half-tithi measuring action efficiency).
Rahu Kaal is an inauspicious 90-minute window every day ruled by the shadow planet Rahu. Initiating new ventures, entering a new home (Griha Pravesh), signing legal contracts, or departing for vital journeys during Rahu Kaal is believed to cause unexpected hurdles and instability. However, existing routines or ongoing pujas do not need to pause.
Abhijit Muhurat is the 8th Muhurat of the day (approximately 24 minutes before and 24 minutes after local solar noon). Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu blessed this window to destroy millions of subtle planetary blemishes (doshas). It is regarded as universally auspicious for starting business deals, purchasing assets, and commencing journeys.
Because the Earth is spherical, sunrise, sunset, and moon transit timings vary across longitudes and latitudes. Panchang elements like Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat, and Tithi start/end periods depend directly on local sunrise time. Shri Hariom Foundation calculates Panchang dynamically using precise local coordinates.
The daylight period (sunrise to sunset) and night period (sunset to sunrise) are each divided into 8 equal planetary segments called Choghadiyas. Segments like Amrit, Shubh, and Labh bring success, Char is neutral, while Rog, Kaal, and Udveg are considered adverse.
